A Good Man Is Hard To Find

At first glance at the title "A Good Man is Hard to Find” one might seem to think
that the story is about a woman trying to find a respectable man, but after reading the story
you discover that the title has a more of a philosophical meaning. The story
portray’s a feeling that society as she saw it was drastically changing for the worse.
O'Connor's obvious displeasure with society at the time is most likely a result of her
upbringing in the ‘old south.’ She seems to depict her opinion in this particular story by using the character of the grandmother to show what she saw was happening to the times.
