A Painful Case
The short story A PAINFUL CASE signifies the concept that you never truly appreciate something until it’s gone. In the story main character Duffy is use to shutting the world out and not making close relations to anyone. Until he meets a woman who tries to alter his opinion and get Duffy to open up and tell his story to society instead of running and hiding behind the simple boring lifestyle he has been portraying. Duffy begins to fall for this woman but fears getting attatched, Duffy decides to end the relationship abruptly. This also shows that Duffy has a fear of commitment and is afraid to step out of his comfort zone. Four years after the break up Duffy comes across a newspaper...
