The Baker University student handbook defines academic dishonesty as “cheating, fabrication, plagiarism, and/or facilitating any academic dishonesty”, “forgery, alteration or misuse of [school] documents, records, or identification or knowingly furnishing false information” (25). For numerous reasons, students are using various methods to commit acts of academic dishonesty regardless of consequences they face. In spite instructors’ efforts to curb the issue, academic dishonesty is a prevalent and reoccurring issue at the high school and college level.
