Some people feel that Maslow's theory has had an effect on the world of advertising. To understand how, think of 5 ads (magazines, TV, radio, etc.), all for different products. For each product identify the need that the product SATIFIES and the need that the product APPEALS TO.

For example, Brand "X" soda appeals to belongingness needs or self-esteem needs, when it really only satifies physiological needs. In other words, soda satisfies a basic physiological need - thirst.
