Octavian, better known throughout the philosophical world as St. Augustine, was a philosopher from the first stages of the Hellenistic and Christian Eras (Moore & Bruder, 2008, p. 78). Augustine wrote some phenomenal pieces; most scholars recognize The City of God, which was written between 413 and 427.c.e., and Confessions, written between 397 and 401.
