Argument

In the excerpt, “On Rabbits and Motion” Zeno, Parmenides’ most famous disciples, supports Parmenides theory which is “reality is One.” Zeno argues that motion is impossible in two instances. The first states that a rabbit, or object must move through an infinite amount of points, requiring an infinite amount of time to move anywhere, thus proving that motion is impossible. Zeno’s second argument states that for an object to move, it must at each moment of its travel occupy a space equal to its lengthThe object must be at rest at each moment, and therefore, cannot move. To fully understand this philosophy, one must decipher the argument and logic used within the excerpt.
