Brazil

Brazil has been plagued throughout its existence with rebellions and revolts. The Male Revolt was the largest slave revolt in the history of the Americas. The Male rebels gained strategic knowledge from the previous failed and successful rebellions in Brazil. Some such rebellions were the mata-marotos, which were anti-Portuguese uprisings between 1823 and late 1830s. The great slave rebellion of 1835 was successful due to the knowledge gained from these insurrections that occurred before. There were many similarities and differences between these uprisings and the great rebellion, but they all shaped the people and the country of Brazil.
