What is Cervical Cancer?
Cervical cancer forms in tissues of the cervix. It is usually a slow-growing cancer that may not have symptons. It can be found with regular Pap tests.
Causes and Risk Factors
Cervical cancer is caused by a virus called human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV infections are very common and are passed from person to person through sexual contact. An HPV infection that does not go away can cause cervical cancer.
