After the great imperialist expansion of the 19th century, the world was now connected on many different levels. It was not, however, a stable, solidified connection. Several factors led the great nations of the world into World War I. The Great War would have a huge impact on all the nations involved, and even ones that were not directly involved in the conflict. After all, it was the first time any nation had seen total war, which would have nearly devastating effects on the global economy.
