When it comes to the differences between Arabs and Muslims, there are several that separate the two from each other. Being a Muslim is a choice whereas being Arab is an ethnic group. Anyone can be a Muslim because this is based on religious belief and not race, nationality or ethnic background. However the stereotype is that all Muslims are Arabs and all Arabs are Muslim (pg 2, Racial and Ethnic Groups). Most people would assume once you tell them that you are of Arab decent that you are a Muslim, however, this is not always true. There are some Arabs that choose to practice the Muslim religion however the two are completely separate.
