The belief in only one god, Allah is the essential theme of Islam. Their purpose is to serve and worship Allah while building and maintaining a moral lifestyle. They also believe that creation, guidance, judgment and sustenance are the four major functions of God. The Five Pillars are considered God’s commandments and must be practiced by Muslims. As a Muslim, he or she must try their best to fulfill all of these duties:
1. To acknowledge “There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God.”
2. They must pray five times a day (at dawn, at noon, in the midafternoon, at dusk, and after dark), facing Mecca.
