College Football Playoffs
It’s a great time of year to be a football fan. The NFL playoffs are starting and everyone can’t wait to watch the two bowl games. Wait. There are actually 35 bowl games. It’s just that people only choose to watch or attend two or three games: The National Championship, the Rose Bowl, and possibly the bowl game that their mediocre 6-6 local team somehow managed to get into. Why? Because of tradition, custom, and some NCAA bigwigs who want it that way. This could all be changed, with benefit for the entire division 1 system, by adding an eight or sixteen team playoff system, comparable to the NFL’s.
