Criminal Justice
The first main function of criminal law is to protect and punish the people. The main purpose of law is to protect people for harm and punish those who commit harm to others. This harm could come from many different places. There can be obvious harm such as murder, rape, robbery, or assault. Harm can also come from less than obvious places like: foods or products that are not safe and the environment. If people cause this kind of harm, they can and, in most cases, will be punished for the crime or crimes they committed.
