The phrase schizophrenia was first used in the 20th century, and is associated with the concept of madness. (Pinel, 2009) This disorder can have a great number of very diverse symptoms that can make the diagnosis of schizophrenia difficult, including (Pinel,2009) Delusions; thoughts that include being controlled, persecution, and delusions of gradeur; inappropriate affect the failure to react appropriately to negative or positive events; hallucinations either viusual or auditory causing the person to act in a negative behavior; incoherent thoughts, having illogical thinking, peculiar assoiciations among ideas, belief in supernatural forces.
