27 year old Goeatra Barrett was shot in the head by her husband John Barrett on July 20, 2009. In 2006, John was convicted of several domestic crimes, but instead of facing time in prison, they sent him to war. The moment John arrived home from several missions in Iraq, Goeatra knew her life wouldn’t be the same. Frustration was taken out on her on multiple occasions, including receiving strikes to the face, or being choked merely half to death.
