Dr. Anthony Giddens: An Inspiration to Sociology

In today’s sociology classes around the world, professors choose textbooks for their students to read throughout the course of a semester. One person that is usually considered when deciding such necessities is Dr. Anthony Giddens. According to The London School of Economics and Political Science, “He is the author of the leading textbook in sociology, which has sold more than 600,000 copies since it was first published in 1988” (Jaarsveld n.d.). He is also considered one of the most “prominent modern contributors in the field of sociology” (“Anthony” 2010).
