Driving Miss Daisy

Driving Miss Daisy, (1989) a screen play by Alfred Uhry and directed by Bruce Beresford, takes place in post-World War II Atlanta, Georgia. The main character of the movie is Miss Daisy Werthan, a Jewish widow in her seventies. The movie begins with her putting her car into the wrong gear, and going in reverse into her neighbor’s yard. Thus, her son, Boolie Werthan, believes that no insurance companies would want to insure her after this incident.
