Earthquakes are something we hear about all over the world. Some can be devastating while others are undetectable to humans. The magnitude of an earthquake depends on a few different things. One of them being the plate margins and how the plates are moving.
Transform boundaries are one type of plate margin. Transform boundaries are when two plates slide or grind past each other along transform faults. The relative motion of the two plates is either sinistral or dextral. The San Andreas Fault is an example of dextral motion of a transform boundary.
