There are many theories regarding emotions each one different from the next but all embracing the power of emotions on behaviors and reactions within the body. Darwin, James-Lange, and Cannon-Bard developed their theories of emotions and the Limbic System is also considered to affect emotions.
Drawin believed that expression of emotions are products of evolution. Darwin studied different species and learned that expressed emotions evolve from behaviors that let other animals know what to expect from the animal displaying the emotion. If the display is beneficial the animal will use this as a method of communication (Pinel, 2009).
