Eadweard Muybride and Etienne-Jules Marey started the formal revelations of film. Eadweard Muybride was the first to capture the locomotion of animals and Etienna- Jules Marey captured the first locomotion of human beings in sequences of rapidly exposed photos. Revelations of film started as forms and shapes repeated themselves in time across the motion screen, the medium seemed to invite the exploration of rhythm and repetition as principles of design.
