Formal Anylasis Of Art

Van Gogh’s painting The Starry Night was full of lax and somewhat out of control lines. The lines seemed to swirl, sway, dip and roll in different directions. Although the way he painted his loose lively lines one could still recognize that it was a Van Gogh painting. His energetic strokes were somewhat of a signature. Van Gogh’s use of lines seemed to have expressed his anguish and despair.
