Fostering Commitment
The Goal that I am reviewing is to raise my children to be respectful adults. The first suggestion in the text is to look for meaning. The meaning I find is that I want my children to get along with others and become successful as adults. This cannot happen is they are not respectful to others because showing disrespect will cause others to disregard them in life situations. The second suggestion is to transform a should into a want. In this situation my should is teaching my children respect. When transformed, this becomes my want to spend time to help my children evolve.
