Groups based on agricultural output. The most powerful group was the
(Pentakosiomedimnoi) or the “five-hundred-bushel-men” which consisted of powerful landowning individuals. The second most powerful people were the Hippeis, which consisted of Archons and other high officials. The third most powerful group was the Zevgitai, they held the lower offices in government.
