Biological Factors

Diabetes runs in my family. My mom was diagnosed with it at 40. She started feeling symptoms before she was diagnosed but did not go see a doctor. This is a highly inherited disease so when I turned 33 I decided to get my first test for the disease done and to get tested on a regular basis as I get older.

Psychological factors

I believe it is important for me to always have my sugar in check because of the damage high sugar can have on the body. I want to be there for my family and be able to help out so I feel the need to stay healthy for them. Also my lifestyle is very busy and I do not eat as healthy as I should...
