The United States has proven to be one of the strongest most successful nations in history. Although a very young country, the US has been part of many significant events in world history and suffered many others in the home front that shaped our society in many ways. The Great Depression helped us redesign our banking system, the Civil War helped us build a nation and face our differences, and the civil rights movement helped us realize that we are not so different after all.
