There are can be many problems intrinsic to the process associated with evaluating an employee’s job performance. Those problems can be attributed to the type of performance evaluation used or the personal style of the appraiser. Assuming that the administrative process is sound and that the evaluation method is operative, then the decisions and styles of the managers themselves must be addressed as problematical and deserve scrutiny. The objective of this analysis is to identify the problems in the managers’ abilities to form decisions during performance appraisals.
