Johann Bach

Johann Sebastian Bach, a prolific German composer who drew together the strands of the Baroque period and brought it to its ultimate prime of life. He was better recognized as an organist rather than as a composer. For decades after his death his works were abandoned, but during the 19th century passionate composers such as Mendelssohn and Schumann acknowledged his brilliance. Since that time his reputation has grown gradually.
