One hundred men sail from Britain to form the Jamestown Colony in 1607. The British ships return to England to pick up supplies for the new colony. Without food and shelter, the settlers find life in Jamestown a challenge, and many perish. John Smith, a member of Jamestown Ruling Council, is elected its president.
