In the novel, A Long Way Gone, Ishmael Beah writes about his life as a child, but little do you know Ishmael lives through some of the toughest hardships a human could live through. Ishmael lived in Sierra Leone in the 1990’s, after his family was killed by the Rebel Soldiers; Ishmael was forced to be a boy soldier, he was brain washed, drugged, and abused to follow the commands of his leaders. Ishmael was forced to start invading villages and killing people, he didn’t think he was doing anything wrong...

Your essay overall wasnt that bad, but it was lacking substence and the extra "oomp" that is needed in order for the reader to be intereseted in your essay. Good job though.
