Mapp V. The State Of Ohio
The state of Ohio v. Dollree Mapp case started May 23, 1957, at approximately 1:30 P.M. Police visited Mapp’s house looking for a man named Virgil Ogletree, a man who they suspected had information about a recent bombing. The bombing incident and the group of people in it would make an interesting backdrop to the court proceedings to come. The happenings that led to the police visit of Mapp’s home started a few days earlier on May 20, 1957 at about 3:00 A.M., when a bomb went off on Donald “The Kid†King’s front porch. You know him now as the head of boxing.
