I will never forget the day I got my first skates. I was five and remember begging my dad to let me skate that winter. He decided to take me to the “Hockey Shop” and see my Uncle Leo. He was there when you needed just a little love and a big hug. As we set out, I remember my mother speaking giving directions to my father. Now, my mother was very specific in saying “Figure skates are for girls”.
