Why do authors add details to their stories? Is it to paint a better picture, or something
more? The control panel in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is much more than a simple detail;
it is the center of the entire story. At first, it seems like just a detail, mentioned once or twice to
make the painting in one's head a little more interesting. We later find how important it really is
