Punishment
Crime has been around for a long time and is defined as an action prohibited by law or failure to act as required by law (2009, MS Word). A crime is can be of a moral issue that may cause a person to feel unwise, shameful, or regret the act in which they committed. In society, a crime is something or an act that has been deemed to harm the success of that society, so that the person who commits such an act shall be punished by society as to not repeat the same act. Now, depending on the type of crime committed the punishment varies, for murder the punishment can be life, while shoplifting may just be probation and a fine.
