SOCIAL INEQUALITY IN RELATION
TO UNEMPLOYMENT
Unemployment has been a part of America’s society since the early 1900’s, and perhaps even before that. It is not an individual problem, but a problem of society itself. In this essay, I want to determine how the sociological perspective can help us to understand that being out of work is more than just a personal problem. It has affected the lives of me and my family. As a member of middle class society, I have seen its influence on the state of mental health of the people involved.
