The Importance Of Accountability

Accountability is the most important part of military survival. Whether it is personnel or equipment, accountability, or the lack thereof, could mean the difference of life or death. If either were to fall into the hands of the enemy, failure of the mission is almost inevitable. For instance, if a soldier were to become a prisoner of war, he or she may be tortured and manipulated to give up information on his team mates. Their personal information, location or even future plans of attack may be given up for the sake of the prisoners own life.
